Submission to Blakelight is always open. We accept poetry and prose but we do ask that you follow the guidelines to ensure your work is read:

Please include a maximum of five submissions in one document.
The document should be a .docx file, with .pdf exceptions for submissions with special stylistic elements.
Please include a small bio for yourself (to be used in case of publication).
We ask that you limit your poetry submission to 200 lines.
Prose:
We accept fiction, non-fiction and creative non-fiction.
Please include a maximum of two submissions in one document.
The document should be a .docx file.
Please include a small bio for yourself (to be used in case of publication).
Please limit your word count to five thousand words.
Additionally:
You can submit to both the poetry and short story categories.
You can also include drawings with your work (attached as a separate .JPEG or .PNG file).
Do not submit previously published work.
Please inform us in case of your work’s publication else-where.
Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot discuss with writers why their work was not accepted.
We may, in some cases, work with the writer on editing his/her work for publication.
Rights to the work revert back to author after publication.
